calling at Funchal must be officially entered with all
Port Authorities except when seeking medical assistance.
Weather - Predominant
winds mainly from N Quadrant. E winds and seas can cause
rough water in harbour. SW gales can cause heavy surge
in harbour. The sea water temperature is very moderate
due to the warm Gulf- Stream influence. The average
temperature is 24º In summer, and 18º in winter.

- Pilotage is compulsory and a tugboat service is available
when requested in advance (until 4pm on the day prior
to arrival).
Within the port area there is a private drydock, a mini-market,
laundry and bathing place, anchorage capacity for 20
yachts at mooring buoys inside the port.
